A different chemical make up gives this granite its distinct grey and white flecked appearance. To achieve a flamed finish the material
is subjected to direct heat via a blow torch that causes individual crystals to suffer thermal shock and 'pop out' leaving a slightly rough, textured surface.
It's important to note that granite is a natural stone, and as such, each hearth possesses its own unique fossil marks and distinctive features,
adding a touch of character to your chosen hearth.
