FDC offers a selection of Roccheggiani Black Twin Wall chimney products, including all special elements and required accessories.
Suitable for installation both inside and outside buildings thanks to an efficient thermal insulation system made of high density rock wool,
which guarantees the optimal performance in all weather conditions.
Currently all twin wall flue has an EN product designation that includes a distance to combustibles dimension (G50 = 50mm, G60 = 60mm, etc) and this distance is determined by testing self colour (unpainted) flue pipe. Roccheggiani realised that although this was the current regulation, black powder coating will increase heat radiation from the surface of the pipe, so it should be tested and designated accordingly. It was also presumed that other manufacturers would follow suit and it would soon become mandatory under both EU and UK regulations. This has proved not to be the case and the change in regulations has been postponed indefinitely. The new product designation for RG powder coated black flue pipe is T600 N1 V2 L50040 G130 meaning 130mm air space is required in confined spaces with combustible materials present (ie: when passing through ceiling joists, roof joists or timber framed walls and enclosures). To overcome this potentially problematic issue we have a fibreglass insulation wrap available which reduces the distance to combustibles to 73mm (which equates to 50mm from the external surface of the insulated pipe). It is supplied in 1-meter lengths and can easily be cut with a sharp knife to the required length to pass through the afore-mentioned areas). It is simple to fit and multiple lengths can be connected with jointing tape if required.
